My boyfriend purchased the Aerobed Sleep Away Inflatable Bed from Amazon.com for his new apartment last August. Aerobed is a good alternative to traditional mattresses when time and cost are issues. The mattress inflates within two minutes or so, the pump is relatively quiet compared to some cheaper brands out there (something to take into consideration if you're living in an apartment). It also deflates quickly.

As far as air bed mattresses go, this one is comfortable enough for two people to sleep on especially if you buy a soft pad for it. (That made a huge difference!) One warning: If yours springs a leak on the "velvety top" the repair patches will not work! This is what happened to us. Make sure you get the warranty.

Aero Queen Size Aero Bed

The Aero Beds air mattresses are extremely overpriced for what you get. We bought the air mattress about 5 years ago at Walmart. Our newborn son was not sleeping well with us in the room as well so we bought this $200+ air mattress to put in our living room. Since we knew that we were going to be sleeping on it every night, we bought a good one. These air mattresses are not meant to be slept on every night. Within one month of normal usage, it sprang a leak. So, we took it back and Walmart replaced it. Within two months of sleeping on it, it sprung a leak. We will never buy another Aero bed again. They are too expensive and they aren't up to withstanding regular usage. We found the Walmart brand air mattress held up much longer and for much less money.
