Comfort Concepts Latex Foam Mattress -- Model Marsielle Lux, #2000-1050

My husband and I purchased our first mattress from Metro Mattress in Upstate NY. We purchased the only remaining floor model of the Comfort Concepts Latex Foam mattress. This model was 10 inches deep, and it used a combination of polyurethane foam and latex foam rubber to make an organic "green" foam mattress.

These mattresses are very popular in Europe, and are similar to memory foam. Because it was a floor model, we bought it at a discounted price, approximately $700 (USD).

The mattress was quite heavy at 60 pounds. We were assured by the sales representatives that it could be used on the floor without a box spring, which was ideal for our first apartment.

After 10 months of continuous but standard use, we got rid of this mattress and changed to an 8-inch Walmart Memory Foam mattress ($200 USD).

I personally had no complaints about this mattress, but my husband found it to be quite soft. He would wake up in the morning sore and uncomfortable due to the lack of support at his shoulders and hips.

Our memory foam mattress has remedied this problem.

Also, we found that it is NOT appropriate to sleep with the mattress directly on the floor. Small patches of mildew or mold developed in the center of the mattress.
