Ortho Sleeping Beauty Crown Imperial Ultra Firm Mattress
by Walter B.
(Pasadena, CA)
My mattress is an Ortho, queen sized, “Sleeping Beauty Crown Imperial Ultra Firm” with matching box spring. I purchased it from the local Ortho showroom in Pasadena, California. Checking the label I am surprised to see that this was in 1995. The mattress is in good shape and does not sag. I am sure that the fact that I rotate it regularly has helped me maintain it for so long, especially since I am heavy-set (over 300 Lbs.). I have always liked this mattress. Although it is firm I have never felt uncomfortable. I have had back problems in the past but, as long as I keep this mattress rotated on a regular schedule, I sleep well and I have never had a sore back due to it. Nor can I remember a poor night’s sleep because I was uncomfortable. The price for the entire set was approximately $500. Not the cheapest but considering how long it has served me, especially considering my weight, I feel I received good value for money. Although not of great importance to me, the mattress and box spring set is of an attractive gold color. It is nicely finished but not too fancy. This is what I prefer. When I rotate it I notice that it is on the heavy side, but this is a price I’m willing to pay for long-lasting quality. I also like the fact that I am buying from a brand name American company. The mattress was made in the USA and certainly this will be important to me when it is time to replace it. I remember that the store personnel were friendly as was the installation crew. In summary, the Ortho “Sleeping Beauty Crown Imperial Ultra Firm” has served me well. I consider it a high quality, long lasting product from a reputable company. I will definitely consider this company and mattress again when the mattress needs replacing. Definitely five stars for the mattress and the same for the company.

Coastal Bedding's Custom Brand-- The Monarch Mattress
by Louise
(Milton, Florida)
My husband and I just moved in to a new house here in Pensacola and my mother-in-law bought us a new bed for our guest room.
We got a Monarch model full mattress and box spring set from Coastal Bedding.
Apparently, Coastal Bedding has these made just for them in a local factory.
What we found really surprising was how really great this bed felt.
We (and my mother-in-law) were looking for something inexpensive, but nice for occasional guest use.
The new set was about $325 total. And, I think we got the inexpensive bed parts thrown in for free.
This bed is more comfortable that the $900 fancy schmancy channeled water bed mattress we got a few years ago.
And, my hubby and I have ended up sleeping in the guest room when there are no guests until we replace our mattress with a larger version of this one.
We loved the channeled water bed when we first got it. It has these large foam-filled tubes inside it that you fill individually with water and a normal pillow top.
We found that it gave us a nice, soothing “sinking into bed” feel that we thought would be relaxing.
What I like about the Monarch is that is provides just plain and simple support with a really nice pillow top. We started sleeping on it because my back was really flaring up one week and sleeping on the Monarch for 3 days cleared that up.
Since we have not bought yet, we are still also considering a Select Comfort bed-- the complete opposite from Monarch on the price.
I am thinking that part of why my back stopped hurting was that it needed a change in firmness, and the Select Comfort mattresses give you that option.
The other thing I am interested to see is how well this pillow top on the Monarch holds up. It is made from inexpensive materials and it looks great right now.
But, we have not tried to clean a spill from it yet and sometimes that can be the real test of quality.

Sleepy's Brand Mattress
by Stephanie R
(Philadelphia)
Hi my name is Stephanie. I went to Mattress World with my husband to purchase our very first bed together. We get to the store and there was so much to choose from.
Finally after sitting and laying on a dozen or more beds we were tired of being in the store so we finally chose the one that we both thought was affordable. It was soft enough for myself but firm enough for his back.
We went to the salesman and said "we'll take this one". We went up to the counter and purchase our new Sleepy's mattress for $200.00 plus tax and delivery.
After two days, finally we had our bed at home with us. For the first 3 months we didn't notice much difference in the bed still feeling like new.
Once the 5th month came around we couldn't sleep! I was always up most of the night trying to get to sleep,so I could get to work the next day, but I had very little luck.
My husband's back got worse, we flipped the bed at least 10-15 times in the next couple of weeks. Still that didn't do the trick.
The bed turned out to be so hard and I could feel the strings. When you got up off the bed it felt like you were trying to get out of a hole.
In the end we started falling asleep on the sofa, let me add we didn't fit on it together so the comfort of me laying with my husband was out the door.
Finally we threw out the bed and decided to spend an extra hundred for ourselves. My advise to all of you is please take your time and purchase a mattress that has reviews and ask around before going shopping, I'm I sure will.

Dorel Signature Sleep Series 8 Inch Pocket Coil Twin Mattress
I sleep on a Dorel Signature Sleep Series, 8”- pocket coil, twin mattress.
I purchased it online at Walmart.com. I have slept on the mattress for about five months.
It cost one hundred and thirty nine dollars plus the tax charge of eleven dollars and forty seven cents for a total of 150.47 total price. I am very happy with the product and would definitely buy the same model again.
It is very comfortable, I fall asleep very easily and wake up well rested. I have not had any problems with it.
The only thing I would change is that I would have preferred it to be a little bit longer; however for the price it is a really nice mattress. I had it sent directly to the store thus saving myself shipping costs.
I was concerned about the quality because the ad said it would be delivered rolled up in a duffel bag; however I was in a financial bind and really needed a mattress so I decided to take a risk. When it arrived at Walmart I received a text to pick it up.
It easily slid it onto the back seat of my 88 Ford XL Mustang and I drove home. When I took off the duffel bag, I realized that it was rolled up into a tube and vacuum packed. I carefully cut it out of the plastic and let it expand to its full size.
It initially had a plastic smell but it quickly dissipated and I was able to sleep on it the same evening. It was a great buy, I saved a lot of money and I thoroughly enjoy it.
I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a comfortable mattress.

Banner Mattress Tuscany Plush
by Sharlene
(San Bernardino, CA)
I love the way it feels. It is the most comforting mattress I have ever owned. Only one problem...it's HOT. I find myself moving all over to find a cool place. It's as if it has a heater in the mattress. I cannot use my down comforter or any bedspread over me when I sleep. I use blankets that can be kicked off. Anyone else have this problem? I have had friends try it out and they also say it is HOT! Sharlene
