My Pillow Top Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress from Sam's Club - 4 1/2 Stars And No Regrets

I purchased my Pillow Top Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress in 2008. So far I am pretty pleased with the mattress. The box spring that I purchased along with it on the other hand broke two weeks ago.

One of the boards cracked when lifting it off the bed to put on a new bed skirt so I’m not sure if it was a fault in the box spring or if it was something that I did wrong when moving it. I’m sure they fact my kids think it’s their personal trampoline doesn’t help matters either.

I just like many others live on a pretty tight budget so when I went out on my search for a set of mattresses I was looking for a steal. After leaving very many furniture stores very frustrated with prices that just seemed outrageous to me I was just about ready to give up.

Last stop of the day I was surprised to walk into a Sam’s club and see such a wide range of mattresses at such a great price. The nice gentleman who was helping me said there were small flaws here and there which are why they were able to sell it at such a decent price. It was only $375 for both the mattress and the box spring.

I’d say this is probably one of the best mattresses that I have ever owned especially for the price. The saying you get what you pay for is pretty much true. There are spots that seem to be wearing on the mattress and since it is a pillow top you can’t flip it over. Some of the seams around the edges look like they may be starting to come loose also. I’ve noticed the spots where my husband and I lay the most is starting to sink in.


We sleep pretty close together most of the time anyways but waking up in the middle of the night and him rolling over on top of me is no fun! I went out last week and bought a two inch memory foam topper and oh my goodness that was the trick. That was what it needed for sure it made all the difference in the world.

Some people wouldn’t agree with me but I love the fact that it’s soft. I like being able to sink down into the mattress a little. I think it is a good combination of comfort and firmness. My last set of mattresses I could honestly feel the springs on my back when I laid down and I am thrilled to report that even after almost 4 1/2 years that isn’t the case with this set!

This mattress gets 4 stars in my opinion…I have no regrets purchasing this mattress and I will go back to the same Sam’s Club store and purchase the next time I need a new mattress set. I by far wasn’t expecting perfection when I bought it and I know that it is not the best on the market but it by far isn’t the worst. I was pleasantly surprised I was able to get the quality of a mattress that I did for the money it cost me.
