Serta Perfect Elements Mattress Is Comfy But Pricey

by Cathy C.
(Sacramento, Ca)

My partner no longer snores and sleeps like an Angel! We bought a Serta Perfect Element sleeper mattress 2 1/2 years ago. When it was brand new I found it a little difficult to sleep on at first as I was used to a waterbed mattress slighty firm.

The memory foam I think becuase of my light build (I am only 110 lbs) it took a little longer maybe 2 months if I recall to conform to my body. My partner on the other hand took to it right away at 185 lbs the mattress seemed to conform perfectly within the week.

As an added bonus to me my partner also stopped snoring as loudly. I like to think it is because of the Serta Perfect Element that we bought. We didn't really research our purchase. Our research consisted of going into the mattress store and jumping up on the beds like a child would do.

For the money I do think if we had researched and shopped around a little we could have come up with a lower price the Serta Perfect Element is not perfect when it comes to price we paid around 700.00 brand new.

We have a queen size bed it did fit perfectly on our existing frame so that was a bonus. Overall I would give the Serta Perfect Element mattress 4 stars. The pros obviously is the comfort and anything that keeps my partner from snoring as much so I and they can get a restful nights sleep is perfect in my book.

Pro #2 is the styling sleek, clean looking not springy looking like some mattress even 2 years later looks brand new. Only one con is again the price,we splurged due to income taxes if under normal financials we would not have taken the plunge. Serta Perfect Elements gets a 4 not a 5.

Perfect Elements Baylor Memory Foam Model

by Deniece J.

I love this bed. I have always used coil innerspring mattresses in the past, and never realized how comfortable a bed could be until I purchased this one. When I bought a crib mattress for my infant, I went with a traditional innerspring, thinking he wouldn’t use it that long, and that was a huge mistake. My son will ONLY sleep on the Serta now! He refuses to sleep on coils.

Once you try a foam mattress, there really is no going back. It is comparable to the feel of a Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress, but much better than the IKEA foam mattresses. I have slept on the IKEA mattress when visiting my mom’s house, she has one in her guestroom. It felt flattened and without resilience after just a few nights of use!

I do not have problems with my back, and attribute it in part to my Serta mattress. My husband likes a firm mattress, and I like a soft one, we purchased this because we felt that it was a good compromise. If anything it is a little on the firm side for my taste. That is the only real downside in my opinion, but if you like a firmer memory foam, this is great.

I bought this bed at JCPenny’s about eight months ago. Unfortunately, the bed has been stained by my infant, even though I had a protective cover on it. But that is no fault of the mattress. It actually absorbed the odor well and the odor is not noticeable, just the stain. Maybe it might be better if it was stain resistant fabric.

I paid about $700 for the Queen Size model of this bed. This was much cheaper than the Tempur-Pedic bed offered in other stores, and the quality is just as good. Overall, I would give this bed a rating of 4 stars. I suppose because I prefer a slightly softer mattress, and because the fabric did not repel water as much as I would have liked.

We are thinking of upgrading to a King size bed soon, and will be considering purchasing this same model again, just with a better mattress cover. I would also like to try the Tempur-Pedic. I suspect that over time, the Tempur-Pedic mattress might hold up better. Although my Serta shows no signs of getting flattened yet, I have only had it for about eight months.

If you have never owned a memory foam mattress, you need to convert! You don’t realize how annoying the squeaky springs are until you bounce on one of these. This is a great alternative to the Tempur-Pedic for those who want quality but can’t afford the Tempur-Pedic price.
