The Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress has many features that make it different from other innerspring mattresses. It integrates new technology in its box spring, mattress coils, mattress top, and even mattress cover fabric. Let's learn some more about the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection.
The official name of the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection is actually the Simmons Beautyrest. Within the Beautyrest family there are five different mattress classes.
Each mattress class then has about four different models each. Sounds confusing? It doesn't have to be.
Essentially, all mattresses in the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection are innerspring mattresses. The differences in the classes are mainly based on coil count, or the amount of coils per square foot in the mattress.
The various models are based on the type of mattress top you prefer, such as pillow top or firm.
The first special feature of the Beautyrest collection is the Triton foundation. It is a box spring without the springs.
Instead it uses non-flexing steel struts to provide firm support for the rest of the sleep system.
All Simmons Do Not Disturb mattresses have pocket coils. This means that every coil is encased in its own cotton pocket.
The design is meant to isolate coils and prevent motion transfer as your partner shifts in his or her sleep.
All Simmons Beautyrest mattresses now come with the option of a removable mattress topper. It is called EverNU and it is mostly marketed to hotels, though price conscious consumers might like them as well.
When you mattress begins to age, you simply remove what amounts to a zippered pillow top and replace it with a new one for a fraction of the cost of an entirely new mattress.
Finally, a new feature on the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattresses is the HealthSmart mattress cover. This is a mattress cover made with materials to wick away and trap moisture far from your body.
You then remove the mattress cover and wash it as you would your sheets thereby keeping your bed free of sweat, dirt, and mites.
On one end of the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection is the Beautyrest Signature collection. It is the basic mattress of the line and can be found for as low as $500 for a queen set if you can get a good deal.
These mattresses feature the Triton foundation and pocket coil, but they do not have EverNu or HealthSmart.
They also have the lowest coil count of all Simmons mattresses. Because of this many consumers report the mattress began to sag in the middle after less than a year of use.
At the other end of the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection is the Beautyrest Black collection.
These mattresses have all the bells and whistles. They also have some frivolous extras such as a mattress cover made of cashmere yarn.
Unfortunately, the Black collection doesn't stay firm much longer than the Signature collection. After three or four years, sags and dips begin to occur.
This is a huge disadvantage of any innerspring mattress. Therefore the price tag of $5000 reduces the value of this mattress even more.
While the technology behind the Simmons Do Not Disturb mattress collection is state of the art, the presence of innerspring coils means the life of the mattress will always be limited.
