Sleep Number Bed Select Comfort cSE Split King
by Holly
We originally made the decision to purchase such an expensive bed, because we realized that it was an investment, and not merely someplace to “crash”. So it goes when you decide to grow up, get married, and become an adult. We purchased our Select Comfort Sleep Number bed in September 2008, while I was 7 months pregnant with our third child. My own needs as a 'further along' pregnant woman while I slept were quite different than my husband. He likes a softer mattress, while I liked a firm mattress. I felt I needed more support in my condition. The Sleep Number bed gave us just that. The sales representative assisted us in finding our personalized sleep number, which, in layman's terms simply means finding which firmness is best for your body or comfort level. We weren't surprised to find our numbers quite different. I understand that the Tempur-Pedic also serves a similar purpose, and we did try one of those mattresses, but I felt I was being engulfed by it, and am on the claustrophobic side, so that was an instant decision against that brand and for the Sleep Number. In notating that this was an investment with such a high price tag, we were quick to find out the warranty information, which played a very large part in our purchase. It comes with a twenty year warranty, and that gave me peace of mind. In addition to all of this, I'm obviously not pregnant anymore, which brings me to my last 'good point' of purchasing this bed. It changes as you change. I no longer need all the support that I did while pregnant, so I can change my settings. My husband needs his same number today, so he can keep his the same. I'm not stuck with a mattress that worked for me during that stage in my life, and doesn't work for me now. Who wouldn't love that? As for the down sides to this mattress. There have been recent reviews of a mold issue, though we have inspected our bed inside and out, and have never found that to be the case. We will continue checking it from time to time, but don't expect to find anything. The only other thing that we've found to be wrong, is that my husbands' side of the bed seems to have a problem. We're about to put that warranty to good use. His side deflates on it's own, and makes a great deal of noise when he gets into and out of bed. I hear by word of mouth that Sleep Number has an excellent customer service department, and I'm looking forward to contacting them. All in all – there really are no down sides, typical maintenance on something that is being used daily over the course of years, and rumors as there are with anything. It's a great mattress, and after more than two years, we're still very happy with it! Click here to read or post comments. Select Comfort Dual Side California King

We bought our Sleep Number mattress from a local sleep train store. It was a floor model but had never been used. We've had our mattress for three years through three moves. We love our mattress because my husband likes hard mattresses and I like soft ones. It came with a twenty year warranty. Sleep Number Bed King

My husband and I bought our sleep number bed in 2004 (7 years ago). We have had to replace the valves numerous times (no charge) and recently, we had to replace one of the air mattresses. The machine turned on by itself while we were not home and blew a hole in the mattress. What Are The Top Rated Mattresses?Go To Consumer Reports Mattresses Return To Best Mattress - Home |
