What's the Secret Formula?
Tempurpedic has been constantly improving the original memory foam formula used by NASA. The Tempurpedic Rhapsody is one of the many fruits of this continuous development.
It does not use the original Tempurpedic memory foam, but uses an enhanced version called Tempurpedic HD, memory foam reformulated to have a higher density. The purpose of this is to improve the support provided by the mattress.
The very core of the mattress - the memory foam material used - already says a lot about the Tempurpedic Rhapsody bed. It goes far and beyond the already high standards blazed by Tempurpedic.
But now, let us look at the other factors that help the Tempurpedic make some noise.
The Mattress Cover
The Tempurpedic Rhapsody bed ships with a mattress cover that moves with the mattress, so that it also conforms to the body's shape. But to keep you comfortable, the material used is soft and silky to the touch.
The mattress cover plays an important role in lessening the heat retained by the mattress, which is normal for memory foam mattresses.

It also has a thick 2.8-inch layer of a special high density Tempur HD Support Layer material to prevent sagging and provide good orthopedic support.
The Base Layer
The base layer is often what provides the main support of the mattress. Now, the base layer of the Tempurpedic Rhapsody mattress is not the regular base layer.
There are 2 layers of 4-inch standard polyurethane foam base layers on the Rhapsody. It features a special AirFlow system, which uses convoluted foam, that helps improve air circulation within and around the mattress to keep it cool, which is a great improvement for any memory foam mattress since memory foam is really known to retain heat.
