Jamison Mattress Reviews

Jamison mattresses have been produced since 1883 by the Jamison mattress company. Jamison has a reputation for making premium quality beds and has contracts with several large hotel chains and over 400 mattress dealers in the southeastern U.S.

Jamison has redesigned beds for Marriott hotels, and the company has received much positive feedback about them.

Consumers who have bought a Jamison mattress consistently give them high ratings. Because their dealers are mostly limited to the Southeast, and because they don't do a lot of heavy promotional advertising, many people may have never heard of Jamison.

But if you have stayed at a Marriott, then you have almost certainly slept on a Jamison mattress.

One of the unique things about Jamison bedding is that they have redesigned the inner springs to be made of a fine steel wire arranged in a double offset coil. What that means is, the coils alternate between those that coil to the right and those that coil to the left.

The reasoning for altering the direction of the coils is so that movement on one part of the mattress is not transferred to the rest of the bed, so that one person's turning does not disturb their sleeping partner.

The Equalizer, Vita-Pedic, and Balance lines of Jamison mattresses, as well as their Jamison Crest line use these "smart coils."

Jamison offers an excellent warranty, with a repair and replacement guarantee of five years, minus transport costs. Jamison also offers delivery, set-up and removal of your old mattress.

Three of the most popular lines of Jamison mattresses are the Jamison latex mattresses, Jamison Resort Foam mattresses, and the Jamison Crest Collection. Regardless of the line, however, Jamison mattress reviews are almost uniformly glowing.

Jamison Latex Mattress

The Jamison Talalay Latex line of mattresses is a line of luxurious latex sleep systems designed to conform to your body's contours. These Jamison mattresses use two layers of Talalay latex of different densities to create a very comfortable sleep surface.

You choose your own comfort level with the Talalay latex mattresses. You only need to turn your mattress to change the firmness.

These mattresses do not cause pressure points or so-called capillary restrictions. And the way Talalay latex is made results in a sleep surface that dissipates your body heat and resists dust mites, mold, and mildew. It is also hypoallergenic.

The term "Talalay" refers to the way that the particular latex foam is made. Talalay latex is manufactured by extracting air from latex foam, then flash freezing the latex. It is then heated and washed.

The end result is an airy feeling mattress that's perfect for those who prefer a softer mattress. The Talalay latex mattresses have a special cover that is quilted to a silken blend material that further enhances the mattress' comfort level and conformity to your body.

Jamison Resort Foam Mattresses

The Jamison Resort Foam Mattress collection is designed to make you feel as if you're at a luxurious resort. These Jamison memory foam mattresses come in three types to accommodate any sleep preference.

While the Resort Collection features Talalay latex mattresses, it also includes visco memory foam, and Omalon foam.

This line of Jamison brand bedding came about partly because of requests from resort guests about where they could get such a comfortable mattress for their own home.

As mentioned above, Talalay latex is created by a special process of cooling and heating the latex, giving it an incredibly airy feel that perfectly conforms to your body and dissipates body heat.

Visco memory foam conforms to every part of your body, no matter your shape. Not only that, it reacts to both body temperature and weight, and eliminates motion transfer from one sleep partner to another.

With visco memory foam, you no longer have to worry about painful pressure points.

Omalon cells are denser than normal memory foam cells. The cells in an Omalon foam mattress are smaller and are elliptical rather than the more honeycomb shape of traditional memory foam cells.

It provides continuous support and feels decadent and luxurious. Omalon makes a very durable bed as well so you'll experience luxurious sleep cradled in comfort for many years.

The Jamison Crest Collection

The Jamison Crest Collection is Jamison's most popular mattress line and includes not only the pocketed coil system, but the addition of Talalay latex, Omalon, or Temperature Sensitive Memory Foam. These Jamison beds are what many consider the best of the best.

Jamison prefers using Talalay latex over any other foam because of its unique design that "breathes" and dissipates your body heat as you sleep. Omalon is a tighter foam because of its smaller, elliptical cells.

This denser foam gives more support than the others and has a very luxurious feel. You can choose from three levels of firmness: pillow top (softest), plush, and firm.

Temperature Sensitive Memory Foam goes by other names, too, such as Visco foam, memory foam, or NASA foam. Once it warms up, it molds exactly to your contours. Jamison mattresses using their version of memory foam are designed for better air circulation than traditional memory foam mattresses.

Jamison is a mattress company that people outside the southeastern U.S. may not have heard of, but they have a reputation based on their contracts with major hotel chains like Marriott. Jamison mattress reviews are overwhelmingly very positive.

The brand has been around for a long time and during that century and a quarter they've built a very good reputation for the quality of their mattresses and the value for the money you pay.

One reason Jamison is able to keep their prices lower than some of its competitors is that a lot of their "advertising" is informal. People sleep on one of the Jamison Marriott mattresses at a hotel and ask where they can get one.

If you like traditional innerspring mattresses, new memory foam mattresses, or a combination of both technologies, Jamison has a mattress that you'll like.

You also get a range of firmness choices, and some beds where firmness can be adjusted to suit changing tastes. Jamison mattresses are considered among the very best, and it would be hard to go wrong by buying one.
