My Back Aches Every Day Because Of This Thing
I have a Simmons, Beauty Rest, plush pillow-top king size mattress and box springs. When I bought it originally, it was the best nights sleep I had ever had. It remained that way for about a year and a half. I bought the mattress set in January 2007. In May 2008 I started to experience uncomfortable sleep and my back would ache every morning.
After investigating, I found that the pillow top was starting to collapse, leaving a concave for my body to lay in at night, therefore (I sleep on my stomach) causing my back to arch entirely too much. I bought this mattress from home furniture in Baton Rouge. I paid over 1,000 for it. I have come to HATE this mattress.
I periodically have to rotate the mattress so that the end of the mattress where my feet would normally be, is now at the top where my head is. I have to do this approximately every 4 months. The mattress I have prior to this was a Sealy Posturepedic
and I LOVED that mattress the entire time I had it and had NO problems with it. The only reason I got rid of it was to upgrade to a King (it was a queen).
I rate the Simmons bed with 0 stars. If I could afford to get a different mattress right now, I would. Simmons service is awful. I have called the store I bought the mattress from to have them come look at it and because where the mattress
is caving in, is less that 4 inches deep, they will not replace it.
My back aches every single day because of this thing. And in order for them to honor the warranty of the mattress, the mattress has to be completely spot and stain free or it voids the warranty. I found this out the hard way. When I bought the mattress, I paid an extra $125 for a mattress protector.
One day while washing my bed sheets, my child came into my room with a marker and being that the protective cover was off, getting washed, when my child got on the bed, the black marker that he was holding in his hand accidentally made a black mark (about the size of a quarter)on the mattress itself.
When the furniture company came out to inspect the mattress I was informed that even if it was caving in enough to have it replaced, the black marker stain voided the warranty and it couldn't be replaced anyway. I explained to the technician that it was a marker stain, not bodily fluids or blood or anything like that, he told me that there was nothing that could be done about it, they would not replace it.
So, to sum it up, I would not recommend Simmons mattresses to anyone! At first they are great, but after about a year they cave in and it has to cave in almost to the point where you can't sleep on it for them to even consider replacing it. Buyers beware!
