TEMPUR-Contour Rhapsody Breeze Review

My husband and I brought our king sized Rhapsody Breeze from 1800-MATTRESS. It cost us about $3,900 (including delivery). From the moment the delivery men brought the mattress into the house you could smell the stench coming off of the bed. It was a weird chemical plastic smell that permeated the house even with all of the windows open. We assumed that all it needed was to allow it to air out for a couple of days so we slept on our sofa bed for a week (Because it was impossible to breathe in our room).

Two weeks later the smell was still so strong that we brought a zip up Mattress protector to encase the entire bed it. (Believe it or not, it actually worked). Our first night’s sleep on our new bed was not how I expected it to be. It felt like I was sleeping on a rock. The one we tried out at the store was a lot softer, almost cloud like.

Sleeping on this bed was brutal. This new mattress did soften up a bit about two or three weeks in but it never got to the point to where it was comfortable. With my old Mattress (which was memory foam) we would wake up with achy sore hips and shoulders. My husband and I expected that to go away with our new TEMPUR-Contour Rhapsody Breeze to our chagrin our morning pain was much worse.

After about a month of this torture we couldn’t take it anymore and finally returned the damn thing. I would not recommend this bed to anyone. I know that the manufactures suggest that you sleep on the bed for a full 60 days before making a final decision about returning it but my husband and I couldn’t last that long.

We hadn’t had a decent night sleep since that mattress came into our house. We owned it for about 37 days (8 of those days we couldn’t even use it.)

Overall I would not say that my first experience with a Tempur-pedic was favorable. I would only rate this mattress as:
1 star (At best) for comfort
1 star for price
0 stars for stench
If you do decide to buy this mattress despite my less then favorable review my advice for you would be to please make sure that you buy from a store that has an easy no hassle return policy because you’re probably going to need it.

I had a crack in my original mattress. I called customer service and they gave instructions about how to file my claim on email. I did as instructed, they honored my claim and delivered a new mattress in short order. The drivers did the set up and took away the old mattress in a timely manner.
The new mattress now has a break about six inches long and I am awaiting the adjustment.
I sleep just fine on my Tempurpedic Rhapsody.
